Job Summary

Our boiler technician apprentice is an entry-level position designed for individuals who are looking to gain practical experience and training in the field of boiler maintenance and repair. This role typically involves working under the supervision of experienced technicians to learn the skills necessary for a successful career in the trade of Boiler Technician.

Essential Duties

  • Assisting in Maintenance and Repairs: Apprentices will help experienced technicians with routine maintenance tasks on boilers and associated equipment, including checking and adjusting controls, and performing preventative maintenance.
  • Learning Safety Protocols: Safety is paramount here at TDIndustries. Apprentices will be trained in safety protocols related to boiler operation and maintenance, ensuring compliance with industry and TDIndustry standards.
  • Operating Tools and Equipment: Apprentices will learn to use various hand and power tools, including welding equipment, to assist in repairs and installations.
  • Documentation: Keeping service and repair logs is very essential to us and how we report to our clients and support staff. Apprentices will be responsible for documenting maintenance activities and communicating with customers regarding service needs. Understanding how to utilize an Ipad & Iphone to document and submit required documents will be an essential part of your daily duties.
  • Physical Tasks: The role requires physical strength and endurance, as apprentices may need to lift heavy objects and work in confined spaces.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED. 
  • Vocational/Trade School training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field is preferred.  
  • Plumbing Apprentice license preferred.
  • Welding certification preferred. 
  • Candidates should be able to demonstrate the ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Must be comfortable working in extreme weather conditions. 
  • Must be comfortable climbing up and down ladder and with working at various heights.
  • Must be able to use app-based technology.
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, gauges and measuring equipment.
  • Must have basic math skills.
  • Professional demeanor, solid interpersonal skills with good written and oral communication capability.
