We are seeking a skilled and reliable HVAC Maintenance Technician - Man in Attendance to join our team. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems at San Antonio State Hospital. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC systems, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality service.

Essential Duties

  • Monitor HVAC Systems: Regularly inspect and monitor HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Respond to Service Calls: Address service requests and emergencies related to HVAC systems promptly and effectively.
  • Perform Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct routine maintenance, repairs, and installations of HVAC equipment, including heating and cooling units.
  • Troubleshoot Issues: Diagnose and resolve HVAC system malfunctions, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Maintain Records: Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections performed on HVAC systems.
  • Ensure Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations and industry standards to ensure compliance and safety in all operations.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with other maintenance staff and contractors to coordinate HVAC services and projects.
  • Other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant HVAC Service Tech experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • EPA Universal license.

Required Skills:

  • HVAC Unitary skills:
    • Split systems - all brands up to 25 tons
    • Mini-split system – up to 3 ton heat pump and all brands MultiZone
    • Roof top units – all brands up to 50 tons
    • Water source heat pumps – all brands up to 15 tons
    • Self-contained systems – water-cooled and air cooled with remote condenser and CRAC units – Leibert/Data-aire/Stultz
  • HVAC Airside skills: 
    • Fan Powered Box
    • VAV Box
    • VFD Theory
  • Air Handler:
    • Theory of AHU operation and Theory of control valve operation
  • Exhaust fans:
    • Centrifugal Up blast Roof Fans and Centrifugal Inline Fan.
