Job Summary

Our Boiler Apprentice plays a crucial role in the maintenance and operation of boiler systems in various commercial settings, including commercial buildings and industrial manufacturing plants.

Essential Duties

  • Assist in Operations: Boiler apprentices help in the operation of high-pressure boilers, ensuring they function efficiently and safely. This includes monitoring boiler performance and making adjustments as necessary.
  • Maintenance and Repairs: They are responsible for performing preventative maintenance tasks, diagnosing issues, and assisting in repairs of boiler systems and related equipment 
  • Learning Technical Skills: Apprentices gain hands-on experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of stationary steam boilers and boiler house auxiliaries. This includes learning about the various components and systems involved 
  • Safety Compliance: Ensuring that all operations comply with safety regulations and standards is a critical part of the job. Apprentices learn to identify potential hazards and implement safety measures.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED. 
  • Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field is preferred. 
  • Craft training is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and a willingness to learn about boiler operations and maintenance are essential.
  • The ability to diagnose problems and think critically about solutions is important for success in this role
  • Professional demeanor, solid interpersonal skills with good written and oral communication capability.
