Job Summary

Supervises, coordinates, inspects and performs the assembly, installation and repair of components, subsystems and systems for the piping trade during the construction, tenant finish-out or remodel of commercial buildings and industrial facilities.

Essential Duties

  • Prepares material take-offs, layout appropriate systems and makes isometric and schematic sketches from blueprints, specifications, submittals and job orders.
  • Participates in job planning for work packages by establishing and adjusting work sequences to meet construction schedules utilizing knowledge of equipment/tools and assigned personnel. Creates and communicates 1 week plan and assists the superintendent in creating 6 week plans.
  • Leads, coaches and mentors craft workers (piping trade). Schedules and coordinates activities of assigned craft workers and operation of equipment and machinery. Verifies that Partners have necessary certifications.
  • Inspects work in progress and completed work to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Eliminates construction and job site hazards as they are recognized to reduce safety incidents and their severity. Performs all required safety observations and conducts tool box meetings.
  • Coordinates placement and storage of materials, tools and supplies to support the construction plan.
  • Verifies that delivered materials and equipment match approved submittals.
  • Operates and supervises the operation of equipment and machinery such as backhoes, forklifts, man lifts, power tools and tampers. Works with tools to meet construction schedules or other demands as needed.
  • Identifies conflicts or need for clarification in contract documents.
  • Understands the project budget.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.

Technical training or Associate’s Degree in Construction Management or related field is preferred.

7+ years of experience as a Foreman Pipefitter. Commercial construction preferred. 

In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and OSHA guidelines.

Understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems.

Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints.
