Job Summary

The Manager of Controls Engineering & Software Development provides leadership for the Controls Design Engineers and Software Applications teams. This role builds, coaches, and develops high performing controls design engineering, software programing, and workstation development teams in order to achieve business unit goals.

Essential Duties

  • Provides leadership for TDControls Shared Services Engineering and Software Applications teams. Builds, coaches, and develops high performing controls engineering, software programming and workstation development teams in order to achieve business unit goals.  Shares technical expertise and experience.
  • Establishes operational improvement programs; identifies and assesses process and procedural improvement opportunities with the goal of increasing profitable returns and reducing costs while improving quality.
  • Works closely with Operational Leaders across TDControls locations to plan, schedule and manage project objectives, delivering to agreed budgets, schedules, and project commitments.
  • Provides technical sales support for TDControls Business Development organization encompassing pricing, technical, and customer development support for ongoing sales efforts.
  • Builds effective customer relations and customer satisfaction among system end users by communicating effectively with customers and delivering excellent project results.
  • Takes ownership of customer issues and facilitates resolutions efficiently and effectively.
  • Encourages and supports Partner growth and development by demonstrating a strong commitment to TD Core Values and continuous personal improvement for TDControls Partners.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Industry certifications such as Professional Engineer (PE), LEED, PMP/PgMP are a plus.
  • 7+ years of progressively increasing responsibilities in controls and building automation systems.
  • Alignment and leadership of the company’s Core Values.
  • Excellent leadership, people management, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Technical knowledge of building automation systems, building, and construction processes.
  • Experience in successfully leading projects and programs, on schedule and within budget.
  • Working knowledge of optimization techniques and process improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to manage, collaborate with, and influence key stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to drive for results and accountability of business needs.
  • Demonstrates decisiveness in resolving business problems, making decisions, and identifying priorities.
