Job Summary

Our Sr. Building Automation Service Technician plays a critical role in the management and optimization of building automation systems here at TDIndustries. This position requires advanced troubleshooting, system design, and the implementation of control systems that enhance the efficiency and functionality of a building's mechanical and electrical systems.

Essential Duties

  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues within building automation systems, ensuring minimal disruption to building operations.
  • Handles advanced controls installations, programming, troubleshooting and repair.
  • Performs planned maintenance and inspections as indicated in the service agreement.
  • Proficiently operates hand tools, power tools, gauges and measuring equipment.
  • Completes service contracts, quoted projects and demand service calls as directed.
  • Develops long-term relationships with customers and explains work performed to the customer's satisfaction.
  • Communicates and documents project status to all project stakeholders.
  • Serves as a front-line resource to service technicians through technical support.
  • Coordinates the work of subcontractors, and trains and provides guidance to technicians.
  • Participates in technician on-call-stand-by rotation as dictated by business unit policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates multi-tech service calls.
  • Completes documentation of invoicing, commissioning and check out data based on hours worked and materials or equipment used to complete the service.
  • Safely drives a motor vehicle and trailer, follows requirements of company vehicle driving policy and adheres to all company safety requirements.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior technicians, sharing expertise in system operations, troubleshooting techniques, and best practices.
  • Uses technology/software to create and modify programming such as graphics, data bases, sequences, etc.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of Building Automation service & troubleshooting experience
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Strong understanding of building automation systems, including HVAC controls, lighting systems, and fire systems
  • Working experience with: Tridium AX/N4, Distech, Siemens, and Siemens Desigo Certification.
  • Required:
    • Fundamentals of A/C electrical circuits and low voltage D/C electrical circuits and operation.
    • Hands on experience with one or more controls platforms (Siemens, Distech, JCI, Inet, etc.).
    • Access controls and lighting controls installations and programming skills.
    • Advanced controls programming and troubleshooting skills.
  • Must have ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and device data sheets.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and provide training.
