Job Summary

The Master Electrician serves as a lead and front-line resource to service technicians through technical support and provides guidance and training to other technicians. Responsible for maintenance and repair of electronic components and equipment and ensure equipment is running correctly. Refers to schematics and performs visual inspections for basic problems. Uses diagnostic equipment to pinpoint malfunctions. Once identified, defective components are repaired or replaced. Develops, maintains and secures a spare parts inventory of basic maintenance hand and power tools. Recommends purchase of maintenance tools, equipment and supplies as required to streamline processes and increase efficiency. Assists engineers in developing methods and procedures to control or improve facilities processes.

Essential Duties

  • Diagnoses electrical system performance through observation, testing and setup.
  • Performs aerial, electrical and lighting installations to include energized electrical work, distribution (gear) and generator installation. Performs planned maintenance and inspections as indicated in the service agreement.
  • Serves as a front-line resource to service technicians through technical support. Coordinates the work of subcontractors, and trains and provides guidance to technicians.
  • Coordinates multi-tech jobs, and accomplishes multiple tasks on multiple projects with minimal impact, if any, between projects. Reviews job contract specifications and assists with installation plan. Coordinates work so it aligns with the project and start-up schedule.
  • Safely drives a motor vehicle and trailer, follows requirements of company vehicle driving policy and adheres to all company safety requirements.
  • Completes documentation of invoicing data based on hours worked and materials/equipment used to complete the service.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Two-year technical degree in related field is preferred.
  • Must possess Master License as required by the position.
  • 10+ years of experience

  • Maintains required registrations, professional licenses and/or certifications as required by the position.
  • Required in Texas: Electrical Journeyman or Masters License.
  • Electrical installations and troubleshooting skills to include: lighting installations, aerial lighting, energized electrical work, distribution (gear) installation, generator installation, critical systems (e.g. health-care, data) and controls.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of service processes, techniques and codes.
